Using Google Voice to track the effectiveness of a Web Video Marketing Campaign.

One of the great things about using the web for any marketing efforts is the track-ability of results. And video is no exception. There are a number of ways you can use to track the effectiveness of your videos and your ROI. One is to use a track-able phone number on your videos. Thanks to Google, you can get a FREE track-able number through their Google Voice service.

If you don’t have a Googe Voice account, it’s very simple to sign up. Either sign in or sign up for a G-Mail account. When you are logged in, you can sign up for a number at https://www.google.com/voice.

You can forward your number to ring through to your existing phone number, and thus this number becomes track-able. Anytime someone rings your phone using your Google Voice number, your regular phone will ring but Google will track the call and provide you with a report on frequency and length. You can even set up voice mail with your number, and Google will transcribe the message and send you an email with both the transcription and MP3 file for you to listen.
